He walked 450 kilometers to cool down after a fight with his wife, what happened next?
What happened
The Corona pandemic was going on at that time. Everyone was under house arrest. It is forbidden to leave the house except for absolutely urgent reasons. The man’s home was in Como, northern Italy. From there, he left the house to cool off after a fierce argument with his wife. According to a BBC report, a week after leaving the house, the police arrested him at around 2 am after he was seen wandering suspiciously on the streets of the city of Fano, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea in Italy. The real incident came to light during interrogation for violating the curfew rules.
The man was fined 400 euros for violating the curfew. He told the police, “I came this far barefoot. I didn’t think to take shoes when I left home. Many people gave me food and water on the way. I’m fine. Just a little tired.” It is known that his wife filed a ‘missing report’ at the local police station after not finding him. This incident was first published in a local newspaper in Bologna, Italy. Then it went viral online. Based on that, it was published one by one in various famous newspapers around the world. On average, the man walked 60 to 65 kilometers every day. One wrote, “Why did he get a fine, he should be given a reward. Along with a pair of shoes.” Another praised him for leaving his wife immediately, avoiding any violence. Another wrote, “I’m sure he cooled down after walking a few kilometers. However, he had the happiness and freedom of traveling aimlessly or wandering around in contact with nature, leaving all his responsibilities behind. And he was enjoying it.’
Another wrote, ‘I just want to know, what did he and his wife talk about on the way home in the car? Or were they both silent? I think he still disappears like that sometimes. He comes back on his own after a few hundred kilometers. His wife doesn’t report him missing anymore.’
